Teachdaireachd eile bho Óighe a’Ghlinne—an aon té-rèiteachaidh

In his Gaelic column this month, ANDREAS WOLFF explain how Our Lady is always watching over us

Ann am Beurla (In English)

THE Virgin of the Glen—the only reconciliatory keeps sending Rosaura Gonzalo in South America messages, and she always expresses the need for us to pray more and to believe in the power of prayer. She says, if we did, we wouldn’t be so restless and reminds us that the darkest hour always precedes clarity.
The Virgin of the Glen asks us if, through all the searching and speaking we do, we are becoming any more certain of what we really want? She says we leave the necessary peace to one side, busy with to-dos that don’t get us anywhere. If we don’t have peace, generosity and above all love for our neighbour, then we don’t have anything.
Her Son Jesus suffered for us, and She asks us whether that wasn’t enough? He loves us, and with every tear He sheds His hand extends towards us, and they are very wet indeed. He converts them into love and light, and so we shouldn’t worry because he always is with us.
The Virgin of the Glen concludes with the words: ¨I love you and bless you. you are not alone.¨ This message was received in Venezuela on July 18, 2011 at 10.10am.
This was the 60th message Rosaura has received. In the last one she reminded us how important love of your neighbour was without expecting anything in return. The Virgin says we are too materialistic.
In another message at the star of the year she said we shouldn’t say things lightly. We would be judged the way we judge other people.
Last year the Virgin of the Glen reminded us that we shouldn’t be afraid. She said the following were weapons of Satan: fear, guilt, hatred, vanity, power, shrewdness and doubt. She also mentioned how there was an attack on the Church from the inside and how there were no borders to the forces of evil. She always reminds us though that we aren’t alone and that we have a powerful weapon: The Rosary. For more information please go to: [www.puertalcielo.com] (in Spanish)

«THE LORD wants to be with ordinary people».

This is the message from Rosaura Gonzalo, my mother-in-law, the Venezuelan artist, who lives with the painting of the Virgin Mary.

She is staying with us in Argyll at the moment, and so I had the chance to interview her.

Born in a small town in the Andean mountains, which look a bit like the Highlands, she had 13 siblings. She could only do six years of school and got married at the age of 17.

In 2000 she had an accident and was told, she wouldn´t be able to use her hand again. Praying to Our Lady she promised to dedicate herself to her, if she cured her. And so it happened. The Virgin of the Glen is the patron of the sea.

Rosaura also has the stigmata. An investigation by the Church has led to the conclusion that they are genuine. She suffers from constant pain, but now realises that they are a sign of God´s love. This has led to the question, why her? She didn´t even attend Mass before this and got divorced twice.

Her explanantion is, that the Lord wants to show, that He is forgiving and wants to be with ordinary people, who aren´t perfect. It´s also a way for Him to express His grief about all the pain caused by us humans.

I have seen Rosaura´s feet bleeding, herself lying on her back, and the blood running up towards her toes, against gravity. Who else but Himself can do such things.

Rosaura also works politically against Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan government, which she feels is attacking the Church.

She visits prisoners, who have to stand horrible conditions in overcrowded cells, where they sometimes cant´s even all sit down. One of her pictures has cried blood in prison.

The pictures are native art using Venezuelan pearls and now Scottish sand (and paint). There will be an exposition in the parish church in Taynuilt, scon, and we hope to also come to the Cathedral in Oban as well as Inverness and possibly other places. You can have a look at her art on: www.puertalcielo.com

ADREAS WOLFF in this monthly Gaelic column, suggests that we should all strive to pray for peace and understanding in our troubled world

Ann am Beurla (In English)

A TRULY remarkable message recently came from the Virgin of the Glen, ´The Only Conciliator´.

She says, we are all her children without distinction of race or creed. It comes to us at a time when the Community of Sant´Egidio, a Catholic lay community, is holding their annual prayer for peace in the world in Cyprus.

Founded by students in Rome in 1968, they now have over 50,000 members in 70 countries. They encourage prayers for peace and understanding, between different faiths, but also do practical work against violence, the death penalty and poverty. They have got a web-site in English, too, at wwww.santegidio.org.

They first caught my attention, when George Bush visited them. Their guest list in Nicosia includes cardinals, rabbis, imams and Buddhist monks.

Cyprus is an excellent location at a time when the island in separated between Muslims and Christians and needs the dialogue. Hopefully it will also strengthen the ties between Rome and the Orthodox churches to bring them ´home¨.

Our Inverness-based group of young adults is thriving. We have now got up to around twenty people, who have now an interest.

We meet every Friday at 7.30pm at St Mary´s for prayer and there in tea afterwards in the Marian Room. Please do come along, if you feel young. There was the same spirit in the group last week, that must have been amongst those students in Rome in 1968, when they decided to do charitable work in the slums.

The message from the Virgin of the Glen and from Sant¨Edigio is to follow Christ and pray for peace, love and understanding in the world.

Teachdaireachd úr bho O’ighe na Glinne, «An Aon Té-Réiteachaidh»

In our monthly feature for our GAELIC readers, we focus on Our Lady´s message, look at styles of governance and are also invited to pray for a Gaelic Christian awakening in Scotland

Seo dhuibh an-diugh teachdaireachd eile bho Óighe na Glinne, «An Aon Té-Réiteachidh.» Is e teachdaireachd 50 a th¨ann, ann an Spáinntis mar a fhuair i Rosaura Gonzalo air 21 An Lúnasdail 2008 aig 7.15am ann an Caracas, Bhenesuela, le eadar-theangachadh.

«Amados Hijos,
¿Por qué os preocupáis tanto
por las cosas innecesarias?
Solo la fuerza de la oración
y el amor al prójimo
os hará libres.
Mis Hijos Amados
como vuestra Madre
Yo Estoy a vuestro lado
Siempre Esto».

ROSAURA Gonzalo has so far received 50 messages from Our Lady and is offially recognised by the Vatican.
In her last message the Virgin of the Glen urges us not to worry so much about unnecessary things.
Only prayer and the love of our neighbour will make us free.
She promises to always be at our side, even in difficult times.
We only have to call her. The Eucharist is so important giving us internal peace. ¨You are all my Beloved Sons and Daughters without distinction.¨
Venezuela, where Rosaura got the message, is today being ruled by Hugo Chavez, who claims to be a socialist. He did a lot for the poor, but also did a lot of negative things, for example, taking the broadcasting licence away from the biggest independent TV station without any reason.
I saw socialism not far away from may own home on the other side of the Berlin Wall. It strongly discourages initiative. But throughout the world people are unhappy with capitalism and looking for faire systems, and I wonder whether in some respect the clan system did have some very positive elements.
Interestingly there seems to be no Gaelic word for ¨hierarchy¨.
The clan chief was usually caring for his people, and MacNeil of Barra would even get you a husband or wife if needed.
People were certainly poor by today’s standards, but not by their own. That is apart from the time of the ¨agricultural improvements,¨ a terrible euphemism, used by some for the Clearances, when people were driven of the land to make way for sheep.
Maybe it is this history that led the Gaels to be humble people, which is why they seem to me to be particularly blessed by God.
Which other language has an expression for ¨Goodbye¨ meaning ¨A blessing to you?¨ You are all invited to pray for a Gaelic Christian awakening in Scotland.

How can anyone say, there are no divine miracles? People find it easier to look for complicated worldly explanations than to accept the obvious, says ANDREAS WOLFF in his monthly Gaelic column

Ann am Beurla (In English)

ROSAURA Gonzalo has so far received 48 messages from Our Lady and is now officially recognised by the Vatican.

She lives off selling her own paintings of MAry, one of which actually ran around a painted (and not a physical) nose (far right). How can anyone say, there are no divine miracles? People find it easier to look for complicated wordly explanations than to accept the obvious.

In her last message the Virgin of the Glen urges us to pray more, much more, particularly the Rosary.

She says, difficult times are coming up for nature but that we can change things through prayer. Nothing is stronger than prayer, belief and love. In Our Father´s house we are secure through the Eucharist, which is why we have to attend Mass.

Bhon uair sin thóisich Rosaura air teachdaireachdan fhaighinn bho Mure Máthair. Seo agaibh an teachdaireachd 49 ann an Spáinntis mar a fhuair i Rosaura Gonzalo air 27 An Ceitean 2008 aig 5.15 f ann an Caracas le eadar-thangachdh.

«Amados hijos,
¡Cuánto se necesitan,
vuestras oraciones!
realmente libres y a salvo.
Os Amo y Bendigo».
